Office Cloud, A Business Collaboration Server Launched By HC
HostColor has sent a news release to the media and its customers to announce the launch of the Office Cloud server, a custom-built business infrastructure collaboration hosting service.
Office Cloud is a business server that allows organizations to share and collaborate on office documents, send and receive email, manage their calendar, and have video chats in a secure private IT environment. Office Cloud is a form of Cloud infrastructure. It is a form of Hosted Private Cloud, used on an infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS) basis and 100% owned by the customer. The Office Cloud can be installed and configured on Bare-Metal Dedicated Servers and Cloud Servers.
Deployed initially on HostCloud.com Infrastructure in Royal Oak, Michigan, and subsequently in the company's all 80 Cloud infrastructure service locations the Office Cloud gives HostColor's customers the opportunity to use services like High Availability (HA) and Automated Fault-Tolerance (AFT).
The High Availability function (HA) monitors the Office Cloud's server operating system (OS) for failure. If any is detected, the HA restarts the Office Cloud on another physical host, part of the HC Cloud Infrastructure. All operations and services resume automatically. Automated Fault-Tolerance (AFT) is a service that eliminates the risk of an Office Cloud outage. AFT creates a mirrored Office Cloud server, which is synchronized and always up-to-date with the primary one. In an event of a hardware outage, the AFT automatically starts the failover Office Cloud server, ensuring zero downtime and preventing data loss.
The Office Cloud is available as a custom installation per the client's demand in all Edge Server and US Dedicated Server locations listed on the HostColor.com website.
HostColor's CEO Dimitar Avramov has said in the official news release that "Office Cloud helps companies to optimize and improve their organizational structure by connecting their on-premise IT infrastructure to the Cloud in a secure, private environment". According to the HC CEO, the "Office Cloud is arguably the best business collaboration infrastructure service on the market. It is much more secure and cost-effective than other popular online-based Office Suite services. The reason is that it is 100% owned by the organizations and thus prevents data leaks".
HC delivers Cloud services in 38 geolocations worldwide including the United States, Canada, European Union, Australia, Singapore, Hong Kong, Japan, South Korea, and India.
The biggest Cloud infrastructure market for HC outside North America is the European Union. The company's Office Cloud service in Europe is called Cloud Workspaces. The Cloud Workspaces are provisioned and delivered on an IaaS basis from 22 European data centers - Amsterdam, The Hague, Copenhagen, London, Paris, Barcelona, Madrid, Zaragoza, Milano, Vienna, Luxembourg, Frankfurt, Helsinki, Stockholm, Prague, Bratislava, Bucharest, Sofia, Athens, Belgrade, Kyiv, and Tbilisi.
In 2019, HC has announced the "A Free Tier Private Cloud Service". The "Free Tier" Private Cloud features 1 CPU Core, 1 GB RAM, 10 GB Fault-Tolerant SATA Storage, and a 40 GB monthly data transfer quota on 100 Mbps Internet Connection. The limits of the "Free Private Cloud Tier" are clearly explained in the service specification published in the Host Color's Private Cloud section. There are no hidden terms or restrictions.
