Our SATA Linux and Windows Virtual Private Servers (VPS) use enterprise HDD. They give you reliability and more storage at a lower cost. The SATA HDD-based virtual servers are based on Promox VE and VMware ESXi virtualization technologies. All VPS are hosted in our main Midwestern U.S. data center and are connected to a 1 Gbps Internet connection. Clients manage their virtual servers with the ProxCP VPS Hosting control panel.

Virtual Private Servers (VPS) - What to Consider?

There are differences between virtualization technologies, which result in the way different types of VPS work. For example, if you need to use burstable memory (RAM) you should choose LXC based VPS. If you need your VPS to be fully isolated from the underlying physical infrastructure, get a VMware ESXi or Proxmox-based Virtual Machine. Few more things to consider.

CPU Cores

One virtual CPU core is equivalent to 1 physical CPU core. You can add virtual CPU cores to any VPS plan when you need processing power. On some occasions, you might need to upgrade the VPS plan itself.

Storage Type

Some VPS use storage on stand-alone servers. Others use Storage Area Networks (SAN). Choose storage type in the VPS order customization page. Chose between enterprise SSD, SAS, or SATA storage.

Bandwidth or Data Transfer

It is important to understand how data transfer works. Choose bandwidth commitment in Mbps or go for metered data transfer.
